A Holy Partnership

“Enlarge the site of your tent, and let your tent curtains be stretched out; do not hold back; lengthen your ropes, and drive your pegs deep.” – Isaiah 54:2 (HCSB)

All that the Lord requires, as stated in Isaiah 54:2, cannot be accomplished without the help of the Holy Spirit. Each one of us has latent qualities that need to be developed. God has also blessed us with gifts that are within, and He has plans to use them for the benefit of the people of the world. The Word of God speaks of our belly, conscience, and heart (John 7:38; Romans 9:1; Psalm 119:11,15). These three areas are located in our innermost being. In order to please God, we need a heart that will seek to enforce the will of Him in our lives.

This heart must love truth and wisdom. Therefore, it needs instruction from God’s Word to form opinions properly on every subject. Proverbs 20:27 (NKJV) says, “The spirit of man is the lamp of the Lord, searching the inner depths of the heart.” As your spirit connects with the Holy Spirit, the Lord gives an inward light and guide. As the Holy Spirit searches, the revealed will of God unfolds. When we partner with the Holy Spirit, we bring glory to God. This calls for daily intimacy and a disciplined attitude.

We need ears that listen and hear, eyes that watch and see, feet that go and deliver, hands that show mercy and compassion, lips that speak truth and love, and a lifestyle of worship that brings glory to Jesus Christ. This form of partnership is the most reliable one that any believer could form.

Experience and statistics have shown us that partnerships, especially in business, fail and cause pain and broken friendships. Even in marriages, heartache and frustrations can result from unhealthy relationships, but the Holy Spirit can be invited into every area of our lives. At a personal level, in the family, at the workplace,  and at school.

From experience, successful and effective planning can only be accessed when the Holy Spirit is allowed to walk alongside and give guidance. Isaiah 11:2 tells us that the attributes of the Holy Spirit are wisdom and understanding, counsel and might, knowledge, and the fear of the Lord. What a combination! The Holy Spirit is awesome!
